Papertrey June Blog Hop Challenge

Welcome to my blog and this month's theme is all about color.  The colors I chose are:

White, Black and Simply Chartreuse.

I think using neutrals with a pop of color like this is so much fun and I can see myself making a set of notecards changing out the button and embossed layer color.

Hope you enjoy it and thanks for stopping by!

Fashion Doll Home Decor Art

Wow! I can't believe it's almost been 2 weeks since I posted.  Life sure has a way of getting hectic and crazy busy when you least expect it.

I have been working on getting my craft room reorganized and decorated and I made these 3 little framed wall art pieces just for fun.  I think they would work great in a teenage girl's room as well.

I did these with 5 x 7 frames but I'm going to recommend if anyone else does it to use 8 x 10 at least so you can make the dolls bigger.  This way the accessories aren't itty, bitty and tiny like I had to work with :).

I think I might redo the yellow doll clothing and replace the hot pink with a golden deeper tone.  I think that will look great and be more in with the theme, however all in all I'm pretty happy with how they turned out :).

Supplies used:

Provo Craft :       Cricut Cartridge Forever Young, Cricut Expression
PTI Cardstock:     Aqua Mist, White, True Black, and Raspberry Fizz
Basic Grey :        Urban Prairie patterned paper pad
Michaels Crafts:  5 x 7 black frames and black designer mats

Craft Room Wall Quote

Hi everyone,

I am sorry this took so long to get up as life has been more hectic than I expected this past week.  My son's girlfriend graduated high school and I went to that in a very poorly picked location.  You would think that if they knew that they were going to be 200 parking slots short they would have changed the venue.  Anyways, enough about that and onto the project!

I designed this on my gypsy using plantin schoolbook and gypsy font. I used my cricut expression to cut out the black vinyl and I high recommend using the transfer paper.  It makes it so much easier and keeps everything lined up well.

It's a good thing I didn't ask my husband to help me with this as I tried to get a line on the wall I was happy with.  I used a long level and it didn't look right at all standing back, so I had to keep tweaking and tweaking.  I think he would have wanted to kill me :P.

Here is the full view shot taken back as far as I can go since my room is pretty small:

Close up view of the butterfly I cut out as well:

I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out and I definately will be doing more things like this in my house.

My crafting buddying

Hi blog visitors.  I thought in my post today I would include a photo of my cat Simba, he is my shadow and especially my crafting buddy.  He is a one year old Siamese that my husband found underneath the hood of his truck engine and brought him home to see if I wanted to rescue him. I had never had a kitten before and I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep him, but after seeing his adorable face I found it very hard to resist :).

Here is a photo of when he first came into our lives:

More current photo:

Isn't he adorable? I haven't regretted allowing him into my home and heart once (ok maybe once when he woke me at up 3 am because he was hungry lol).

I'm working on a wall quote out of vinyl for my craft room with my cricut expression, so stayed tuned in the next few days for details of that project.

Thanks for visiting!
